Abstract

This document summarizes the main results of the estimation of the carrying capacity associated with the development of human activities in each of the cadastral sectors that make up the urban area of the city of Bogotá. Carrying capacity is understood from the physical point of view as the capacity of a territory to support human activities without generating negative externalities derived from overuse (Wei et al., 2015). To obtain load capacity estimates, indicators are constructed for six dimensions, in order to analyze the concept in a multidimensional way. As a result, it is evident that the physical support of the city is not homogeneous but this does not imply that it is concentrated in one area of the city.
