Abstract

The traditional role of Higher Education Institutions as providers of knowledge and research has spread throughout the world in recent decades. The original mission of training has incorporated that of orientation to the labor market as a new key element of political strategies. This article proposes a principal component analysis and a logit model to measure the influence of some factors that decisively affect the probability of finding a job. The analysis uses a sample of European Higher Education graduates, and presents the most demanded university degrees from the point of view of employability. In the investigation five main profiles are obtained: experts in Information Technology, standard workers, proactive workers.
